Decayed tooth for pulp capping

Technical description

Mandibular molar with deep occlusal caries suggestive of rapidly progressing caries in a young child.

Pedagogical objective

Learn to perform a thorough curettage of the decayed dentin, highlighting the " infected" and " affected " layer.
The treatment can be continued until thepulp has beenbreached, as shown by a bleeding point in the pulp. The filling of the cavity can be explained step by step, from the control of the haemostasis to the filling with a bio-material.
The treatment can be completed by endodontic treatment during a later session evoking the failure of pulp capping.
